Different strategies can be used for launching dog mass immunization campaigns such as:
• · Expansion: Vaccinate dogs in a limited area and then slowly expand to cover larger areas.
• · Global: Vaccination covers a large part or even the entire country immediately.
• · Hot spots: Vaccination is initiated in geographically separated areas characterised by a high incidence of rabies in animals and humans.
The areas are then extended.
